Abstract:

Two or more chemical dyes stain most whole-slide histological images. Slide stain separation or color deconvolution is essential in digital pathology. This paper formulates the Bayesian blind color deconvolution problem.

From a multi-stained histological image, our model considers spatial relations among concentration image pixels and similarity between a reference color-vector matrix and the estimated one.

Three efficient blind color deconvolution methods using Variational Bayes inference estimate all model parameters automatically. The proposed approach outperformed classical and state-of-the-art color deconvolution algorithms on real images.
